Mountain Hope Conference A Success

On Thursday, March 5, over 60 people gathered at the Nada mission for a community development workshop led by Father John Rausch (Click here for Bio Information).  The night offered a wonderful meal, time for fellowship, and networking among leaders, residents and volunteers for Nada and Owsley County.  Both groups dreamed of how they could impact their communities including what they would want from churches and individuals by way of partnership.  Most of the evening was dedicated to breakout sessions; one group focused on Nada adults, one group focused on Nada youth, and one group focusd on Owsley County.  During these breakouts Father Rausch encouraged the group to channel their energy on what they can do now and determine what small step can be accomplished soon.  The evening ended with continued discussion on “Where does this community go from here?”; a wonderful question for all leaders to be asking.  This conference was another step in a long journey as we continue to partner through Mountain Hope in McCreary County, Nada, and Owsley County.  If you are interested in serving or would like more information about these areas in Eastern Kentucky, please email Joshua Speight
